Cross-linked polyethylene
Cross-linked polyethylene, commonly abbreviated PEX, XPE or XLPE, is a form of polyethylene with cross-links. It is used predominantly in building services pipework systems, hydronic radiant heating and cooling systems, domestic water piping, and insulation for high tension (high voltage) electrical cables. It is also used for natural gas and offshore oil applications, chemical transportation, and transportation of sewage and slurries. PEX is an alternative to polyvinyl chloride (PVC), chlorinated polyvinyl chloride (CPVC), or copper tubing for use as residential water pipes.
For Extruded cables are insulated using cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE). With improvements in material science, XLPE has achieved a high dielectric strength, low dielectric constant, high insulation resistance, and good mechanical properties, making it an excellent insulation medium for underground power transmission.
Application:
XLPE insulated cables are suitable for distribution networks, industrial installations or other fields that require large-capacity electricity. They are used for fixed laying of copper cores with rated voltages from 6kV to 35kV, aluminum core XLPE insulated low-smoke, low-halogen and halogen-free The flame retardant power cable, the main function is to transmit electric energy
Features:
XLPE insulated cable is a kind of cable suitable for distribution networks and other fields, which has the incomparable advantages of PVC insulated cable. It has a simple structure, lightweight, has good heat resistance, strong load capacity, non-melting, chemical corrosion resistance and high mechanical strength.
